1795 – 1857Henry Havelock (1795-1857)Died 24 November 1857, aged 62Havelock was a British general who led the relief of the besieged garrison at Lucknow during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He died of dysentery in Lucknow shortly after the city's first relief. He was celebrated as a national hero in Britain and commemorated with a statue in Trafalgar Square.
