1871Bulgarian Exarchate adopts its first statuteChurch council organises new Bulgarian church bodyA council of Bulgarian clergy and laity meeting in Constantinople adopted the first organic statute of the newly established Bulgarian Exarchate, an autocephalous church separate from the Greek Patriarchate.
