1886Upper Burma annexed by BritainBritain annexes Upper Burma after the Third Anglo-Burmese WarFollowing the brief Third Anglo-Burmese War, Britain formally annexed Upper Burma, deposing King Thibaw Min and ending the Konbaung dynasty. The annexation completed British control over all of Burma, which was administered as a province of British India. Thibaw was exiled to India for the rest of his life.
