Newspapers that had ignored the machine for two years now have a story about a woman and two boys crossing Baden in one. Orders follow. Emile Roger in Paris begins selling them in France. The company Bertha funded finally has a product.
1888Kodak box camera goes on saleGeorge Eastman brings snapshot photography to the publicGeorge Eastman's Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company began selling the first Kodak camera in 1888, pre-loaded with roll film for 100 exposures. Customers mailed the entire camera back to the factory for processing under the slogan 'You press the button, we do the rest.' The Kodak trademark was registered on 4 September 1888, and the camera made photography accessible to ordinary consumers for the first time.
