1832 – 1923Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923)Died 27 December 1923, aged 91Gustave Eiffel was a French civil engineer best known for designing the Eiffel Tower for the 1889 Paris World's Fair. He also engineered the internal structure of the Statue of Liberty and numerous bridges and viaducts. He died in Paris at age 91.
1903 – 1923Raymond Radiguet (1903-1923)Died 12 December 1923, aged 20Raymond Radiguet was a French novelist and poet whose acclaimed novel Le Diable au corps, written as a teenager, scandalized and impressed critics for its precocious depiction of adultery. He died of typhoid fever in Paris at age 20, shortly after finishing his second novel. His close friend Jean Cocteau organized his funeral.
