The talks broke down over disagreements between Britain and the United States on cruiser numbers and sizes.
1927Bristol sessionsRecordings that launched the Carter Family and Jimmie RodgersRalph Peer of the Victor Talking Machine Company recorded local musicians in Bristol, on the Tennessee–Virginia line. The sessions produced the first recordings of the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers. They are often called the big bang of country music.
