1987The Living Daylights — Timothy DaltonTimothy Dalton takes over as Bond, bringing a harder, more faithful-to-Fleming interpretation. Bond helps a Soviet general defect and uncovers an arms and drugs smuggling operation. Dalton is intense and physical — critics respond positively but the film underperforms relative to the Moore peak. Budget: $40 million. Box office: $191.2 million.
