2001Labour wins a second landslide in the United KingdomTony Blair returned with a large majorityThe UK general election of 7 June 2001 returned Tony Blair's Labour government with a majority of 167, on the lowest turnout since 1918. The Conservatives under William Hague made almost no gains, and Hague resigned as leader. It was the first time Labour had won two consecutive full terms.
